Gettysburg, Pa.- The Saint Francis cross country overcome stiff opposition to claim second place at the Gettysburg Invitational. The men's team scored 59 points and the women's squad finished with 57 points.
Men's Overview
Junior
Griffin Molino (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) finished sixth (26:17.2) to pace all the Red Flash runners. Freshman
Brenden Miller (Millersburg, Pa./Upper Dauphin) continued his successful debut season placing eighth (26:25.9) overall and second among Red Flash racers. Sophomore
Ian Gabig (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) finished tenth (26:28.3). Senior
Jeremie Venne (Ottawa, Ontario/Franco-Cite) earned 12th place (26:30.8). Zachary White finished out the Red Flash scorers placing 28th (27:03.4).
Women's Overview
Senior
Hannah Dorian (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) claimed her second victory of her sensational 2018 campaign crossing the line in 22:26.8 minutes. Dorian finished nearly 16 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Sophomore
Madison Wright (Eaton, Ohio/Twin Valley South) placed sixth on the strength of a 23:16.0 time. Junior
Catie Jaskowak (Grove City, Pa./Grove City Area) narrowly missed the top ten finishing 12th (23:34.8).
Hannah Jones (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) trailed her teammate finishing 13th (23:35.4). Like the men's final scorer, senior
Angela Barber (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro) rounded out the Red Flash breadwinners with a 29th (24:07.3) placement.
Additional Information
This was the final meet before the NEC Championships on October 27th at Smithfield, Rhode Island.
This is the third top two finish (two first and one second) for the men's squad this season equaling their placements from last year (two second places and one first place).
