LEWISTON, N.Y.- Saint Francis placed four golfers in the top five and defeated the Niagara Purple Eagles by 17 strokes in a dual match held over the weekend in Lewiston,New York.
In a match where the teams played six golfers and took the top five scores, the Red Flash defeated the Purple Eagles (400-417).
SFU had two golfers break eighty as
Kelsey Patterson (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) (+6, 78) and Syclaire Kuhn (+7, 79) led the way for the Red Flash, finishing second and third, respectfully. It was a balanced effort for Saint Francis as
Michelle Cabotaje (Fort Washington, MD/Bishop McNamara) (+8, 80),
Nicolette Dilluvio (Westbury, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) (+9, 81) and
Allison Appleton (Millersville PA/Penn Manor) (+10, 82) finished fourth, tied for fifth, and sixth, respectfully.
Abbey Richards (Dunlo, Pa./Forest Hills) 85 was good for seventh-place overall, besting all but two Niagara scores.
The Red Flash will look to use this strong showing into the final tourney of the fall season. They take part in the Lehigh Invite this weekend. The two-round event starts on Sunday with the final round on Monday.
