SOMERSET, NJ- Saint Francis outside hitter
Nicole Adams (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa East) earned her first Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Award for her efforts against the Brooklyn schools this past weekend.
Adams recorded a career high 21 kills against LIU Brooklyn and a career best 20 digs against St. Francis Brooklyn. The freshman added 10 digs on Friday night vs the Blackbirds and 15 kills against the Terriers on Saturday to record two double-doubles on the weekend. She also added five block assists to up her team-leading total to 40 blocks on the season.
For the year, Adams joins fellow freshman teammate
Madi Tyus (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch) as one of the top attackers in the conference. She ranks in the top-10 and second on the team in total kills with 193 and in kills per set at 2.88.
Saint Francis now sits at 2-3 in the Northeast Conference after going 2-1 on their homestand. They head to Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickinson next weekend with the Pioneers up first on Friday night.
