Berhorst nabs NEC Rookie of the Week

Ryan Berhorst (Imperial, Mo./Seckman) receives his first Saint Francis men's soccer weekly award during the 2018 season, declaring NEC Rookie of the Week honors on Tuesday.

Berhorst scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in Saint Francis U's 3-2 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday. Tied 2-2 and playing a man down, Berhorst took a pass from senior
Eric Ganime (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Colegio Icaro) and converted on a breakaway in the 69th minute to put the Red Flash up for good.

Sunday's goal marks Berhorst's second goal of the season and second in the last five games. He has amassed 304 minutes while also posting one assist, five shots and five points so far in his rookie campaign.

The Red Flash will be back in action this weekend as they travel on the road for a conference game against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday at 7 p.m.
