ABOUT THE RED FLASH
The Red Flash battled in each of their four matches but came up on the short end of each match. Freshman outside hitter Madi Tyus (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch) took home the first Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week award after posting three double-doubles over four matches and added five blocks in the fourth. Nicole Adams (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa East) and Lexi Lambert each have over 30 kills and join Tyus in averaging over two kills per set. Defensively, Sophie Rice (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley), Cecilia Esposito (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) and Madi Tyus (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch) are each averaging over a half block per set, with Rice leading the way at nearly a full block. They will be challenged right out of the gate by a Morehead State team that defeated the Red Flash in four sets last season in the Red Flash Classic title game.

ABOUT THE EAGLES
The Eagles come into the weekend at 3-1 on the season having swept through their Eagle Classic on the opening weekend. Morehead State dusted off St. Francis Brooklyn, Bradley and Hampton. They lost in five sets to Marshall in five sets in a mid-week matchup on Tuesday in Huntington. Morehead State was picked to finish sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference and sophomore Lauren Rokey was named pre-season All-OVC. Through four matches, Rokey and Olivia Lohmeier lead the team in kills, both averaging over three kills per set. Defensively, Allison Whitten has averaged over four digs per set while Maddie Fella is averaging two blocks per set.

ABOUT THE RAIDERS
The Raiders come into the weekend at 2-1 on the season after an impressive start to the season. Wright State took UConn to five sets and defeated Georgia Southern and West Virginia as a part of the Mountaineer Classic. Picked eighth to start the season in the Horizon League, Wright State had a balanced offensive attack that featured three players averaging at or above three kills per set led by Teddie Sauer. Jenna Story averaged nearly four digs per set and a pair of Raiders averaged a block and a half per set.

ABOUT THE BEARS
Mercer comes into the weekend at 2-2, splitting the four matches at the Jacksonville State Invite. The Bears defeated North Alabama and Lamar but fell to Arkansas-Little Rock and the host Gamecocks. Paige Alston and Roberta Todd led the offense, averaging 2.5 kills per set during the opening weekend. The Bears were picked seventh in the SoCon pre-season poll but Alston was named pre-season all-conference and will be a player to watch.
