Men's soccer hosts Bryant Sunday in NEC action

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis men's soccer (5-4, 2-1 NEC) continues conference play hosting Bryant (5-3, 2-0 NEC) on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 12 p.m.
 
Scouting Bryant
The Bulldogs are riding a four-match winning streak, including a 4-0 triumph over Central Connecticut on Oct. 4. Previously, Bryant defeated Sacred Heart 2-0 to open NEC play on Sept. 29. The Bulldogs rank second in the league in goals per game (2.0) and third in assists per game (1.5). Bryant is allowing only 1.25 goals per contest, which is tied for second in the NEC. Ben Williams leads the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists, while Alex DaCosta has 11 points on three goals and five assists. Jake Spaulding was named Rookie of the Week after recording a goal and an assist against CCSU.
 
Series History
Saint Francis is 6-2-4 in the all-time series history against Bryant. The Bulldogs knocked off the Red Flash 2-1 in the NEC Tournament semifinals on Nov. 9, 2018 in Brooklyn, N.Y. The teams fought to a scoreless tie in the regular season on Sept. 30, 2018 in Smithfield, R.I.
 
Rosa lighting up the stat sheet
Junior midfielder Lucas Rosa (Atibaia, Brazil/COC Atibaia) has been a force to be reckoned with so far this season. Rosa leads the NEC in points (13) and goals (6). The Atibaia, Brazil native scored two goals to lead the Red Flash to a 3-1 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Oct. 6.
 
Gomez making an impact
Junior midfielder Juan Gomez (Marbella, Spain) has stepped up for the Red Flash over the last three matches. Gomez scored a goal and added an assist in SFU's 3-1 win over FDU. The Marbella, Spain native had a key assist in the team's road victory over St. Francis Brooklyn and recorded a goal against LIU.
 
Red Flash offense among NEC's best
Saint Francis has had one of the most productive offenses in the NEC this season. The Red Flash rank first in points (51) and tied for first in goals (17). SFU also sits in first in the league with 17 assists this season.
