Red Flash take on Robert Morris Wednesday night

Watch | Live Stats

Loretto, Pa. –
The Saint Francis women's volleyball team plays the first of three games this week on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at first-place Robert Morris.

Scouting the Colonials

Robert Morris sits atop the league standings at 13-3 overall and 3-0 in NEC play after a four-set triumph over Sacred Heart last time out. RMU middle blocker Emma Granger is the early leader for NEC Player of the Year, leading the conference in blocks and service aces while ranking second in hitting pct. and fourth in kills. Maria Alfano and Alyssa Hudak rank 7th and 8th in the NEC in kills while Nikolette Zanolli leads the league in digs.

Series History

Saint Francis got a huge monkey off its back last season, ending a 17-game losing streak to the Colonials with a four-set home win. The teams ended up splitting the season series as RMU leads the overall series, 70-15.

Shut the Door

Saint Francis must find a way to close out sets if it wants to get itself in contention for a playoff spot. The Red Flash are just 5-10 in sets when it scores 20 or more points. Saint Francis had four set points in the first set at Sacred Heart last Friday, but couldn't shut the door in a 29-27 loss that set the tone for the rest of the match.

Finding a Way to Win on the Road

SFU's schedule has been road-heavy as SFU has been at home for just one of their first 15 matches. SFU is still searching for its first win away from DeGol Arena as the lone Red Flash win came at home vs. Merrimack.
