Charlotte, NC- The Saint Francis men's volleyball team finished its final match on its North Carolina road trip with a 3-1 win (25-22, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17) over Queens University of Charlotte Sunday afternoon at the Levine Center.

The Red Flash finish the trip 6-5 overall after dropping the first two matches of the weekend. The Royals drop to 2-10 on the season.

Set One
- Roman Swabinsky gave Saint Francis an early 6-5 edge and later setup Joshua Blair (Matterson. Illnois/Marian Catholic ) for his first kill of match to put the Red Flash ahead 10-9.
- A three-point burst gave SFU a 14-11 lead and forced Queens to call timeout. Michael Fisher (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley (Pepperdine)) had a kill and an ace in the run.
- The Red Flash succeeded to hold a three-point lead until the Royals pulled within one at 21-20 following a kill from Tristian Santoyo.
- Back-to-back Queens errors would give the Red Flash a 23-20 lead and force the Royals to call its last timeout.
- SFU found the points it needed as they ended up taking the first set.
- Score: SFU 25, QUC 22: SFU leads 1-0

Set Two
- Queens strung together the first run of the second set with five in a row to lead 7-4.
- Another run by the Royals put them up 14-7 before a service error stopped the run. Â
- The Royals extended their lead to as much as six at 20-14 before the Red Flash chipped at the lead to pull within three at 23-20.
- Queens regained its footing and closed the set, with the final point coming on a kill.
- Score: QUA 25, SFU 21: Match tied at 1-1

Set Three
- SFU took an early advantage in the third set with six kills from four different players to lead 9-5.
- Patrick Bryan (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) picked up a kill and an ace while BJ Blair (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater Raritan) also added a kill to extend the Flash's lead at 14-9 and force Queens to use its first timeout.
- The Red Flash proceeded to rally off the next four of five points to take a 18-10 advantage.
- The next seven of 13 points would help SFU hold its position and clinch the set.
- Score: SFU 25, QUC 16: SFU leads 2-1

Set Four
- Neither team wanted to give the early edge in the fourth set as both teams battled back and forth.
- SFU got the upper edge behind two errors and two kills from Fisher and Bryan to take a 16-11 lead.
- Another four-point run gave SFU a 19-12 lead and force the Royals to call timeout.
- The Royals never pulled within five for the rest of the set as the Red Flash took the frame and match.
- Score: SFU 25, QUC 17: SFU wins 3-1

Game Notes
- Saint Francis continued to struggle with service errors throughout the match with 21 in four sets. The Red Flash hit .383 (63-17-120) for the match.
- Fisher led the Red Flash with 24 kills while hitting .475 (24-5-40) for the match. Fisher also had six digs and three aces.
- Evan Feltz (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) added a season high 11 kills to go along with seven digs.
- BJ Blair (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater Raritan) and Swabinsky split time at setter for the Red Flash as Swabinsky had 19 assists while Blair contributed with 31.
- Ryan Alu (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks West )Â had a team leading nine digs in his first start of the season.
