Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | David Halstead

Red Flash win sixth straight; set sights on showdown with Robert Morris Monday night

Teaneck, N.J. – Saint Francis women's basketball (12-12, 9-3 NEC) pulled away from Fairleigh Dickinson (6-17, 3-9 NEC) in the fourth quarter as the Red Flash picked up a 77-65 win over the Knights on Saturday at the Rothman Center. Jess Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) led all scorers with 19 points, while Courtney Zezza (Plum, PA/Plum) (15 points, eight rebounds) broke the program's all-time blocks record with 279 career blocks, passing Cheril Meier's mark that had stood for 33 years.

Robinson Fruchtl's Reaction
"When you can go on the road late in the year and not play your best and still win by double-figures, I think it's a mark of a good team, "Interim Head Coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl said. "Our depth really helped us in the fourth quarter. Every kid who played today scored."
