FAIRFAX, VA- Saint Francis will have its final tune up before the start of Northeast Conference play as they travel to George Mason to take on the Patriots in a double header Wednesday starting at 2:30.

ABOUT THE RED FLASH
Saint Francis enters Wednesday with a 10-18 record after going 2-3 last weekend at the Hoosier Classic. The Red Flash split with defending Mid-American Conference champion Ohio Bobcats and fellow-MAC school Toledo before dropping the finale of the Classic to the host #19 Hoosiers on Sunday.  SFU defeated Ohio 19-18 in a wild back-and-forth affair on Friday to open the Hoosier Classic. The 37 combined runs shattered the record for runs scored at Andy Mohr Field as well as the record for most combined runs in Red Flash history (26 (W, 16-10 vs ETSU in 2019 , W, 14-12 at RMU in 2018 and W, 22-4 at LIU in 2018)). 

Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) was the catalyst all weekend, hitting .538 (7-13), slugging three home runs and driving in 12. She won her second NEC Player of the Week as a result of her efforts and now sits atop the NEC and 14th in the NCAA with 32 RBI. 

ABOUT THE PATRIOTS
The surging Red Flash offense will be tested against a stout Mason pitching staff that is led by reigning  Bekah Ansbro, the reigning A-10 Pitcher of the Week. Ansbro has a 4-4 record with a 2.62 ERA and is coming off a two-hit 13-strikeout performance against Cornell. She heads a pitching staff that owns a strong 3.44 earned run average. However, Mason is just 7-12 on the season because the Patriots are hitting just .207 as a team and averaging just over two runs per game. Alyssa Lawson is one of two players hitting better than .250 on the season, leading the way with a solid 359 average. 

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Flash and Patriots rivalry has gone dormant, this is the first meeting between the teams since 2005. Mason owns a 13-8 all-time series lead, and the teams split a double header at George Mason back in 2005. The teams were set to meet in 2016 only to have the doubleheader rained out.

After the game, the Red Flash will enjoy some well-deserved time off before heading to Bryant and CCSU to start NEC play on March 29th and 30th, respectfully.
