Â
RECORDS COULD FALL
Â
A number of single-season records and some career milestones could be set this weekend. Mekenzie Saban currently has 70 hits and 20 doubles. Those marks have the sophomore just two hits shy of tying
Cheyenne McKee's (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) single-season record and one double away from setting the single-season record for both the school and the conference. Â
Â
Senior
Hayley Norton's (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) power surge last weekend (four homers in four games) gives her 15 this season to go along with 58 RBI. Norton's next home run would be a career high and one more RBI would tie her for second on the Red Flash single-season list.
Â
CROSSING HOME
With five runs scored last weekend,
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) crossed into some rarified territory, now sitting at 203 runs scored. That is a school and conference record and good for fifth on the NCAA Division-I active list.
Â
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Â
FDU comes into the weekend at 4-8 in the NEC with two doubleheaders remaining against Saint Francis and Robert Morris. The Knights would need to win out and get help in order to make the NEC tournament.Â
Â
Reanna Cervantes leads the offense with a .296 average with four homers and 15 RBI. Turning over to conference play, Holly Mercier leads the way with a .346 average with Cervantes leading the team with six RBI in conference play.
Â
Erica Johnson leads the pitching staff with a 2.17 earned run average in NEC play. Baylee Ports has been solid as well, pitching to a 3.00 era in NEC play while striking out a batter per inning.
