Red Flash travel to Bucknell for Wednesday match

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis men's soccer (1-2-0) hits the road for a match at Bucknell (1-3-0) on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m.
 
Scouting Bucknell
The Bison are 1-3 on the season and are coming off back-to-back losses to Mount St. Mary's and Drexel. Bucknell opened the season with a defeat at Fairleigh Dickinson followed by a win over Canisius. The Bison are both scoring and allowing 1.75 goals per game this season. Freshman forward Eddie Perez-Pelaez leads the team with six points on three goals. He was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week following the opening weekend.
 
Series History
Saint Francis is 8-10-2 in the all-time series history against Bucknell. The Red Flash won last season's meeting 2-0 over the Bison on Sept. 2, 2018 in Loretto.
 
Red Flash unable to score against Wright State
Saint Francis couldn't find a late equalizer as the Red Flash fell to Wright State 1-0 on Saturday at Stokes Soccerplex. The Raiders connected on the match's only goal in the 29th minute. SFU had scoring opportunities late in the contest, including junior midfielder Lucas Rosa's (Atibaia, Brazil/COC Atibaia) shot off the right post in the 58th minute. The Red Flash had 15 shots, including five on goal, but couldn't push the ball past the Wright State goalkeeper.
 
Morgret among NEC's best goalkeepers
SFU sophomore goalkeeper Alex Morgret (Hummelstown, Pa/Hershey) is ranked second in the Northeast Conference in goals against average and third in save percentage. The Hummelstown, Pa. native has a 0.50 gaa and 0.800 save percentage. He has allowed only one goal and recorded four saves through two matches.
 
Tonne named Rookie of the Week
Saint Francis freshman forward Felix Tonne (Kolbotn, Norway) was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week following his performance over Old Dominion last week. Tonne scored two goals to lift the Red Flash to a 2-0 road win over ODU. The Kolbotn, Norway native connected on a goal in the 55th minute off an assist from Kevin Smolyn (Holland, PA/Germantown Academy) to break a scoreless tie. Just over six minutes later, Tonne used an assist from Renan Fuentes (Sao Paolo, Brazil/Colegio Joao XXIII) to find the back of the next for a second time.
