Providence, RI. – The Saint Francis University Water Polo team heads out on their first trip of the season to the Bruno Classic hosted by Brown University this weekend, Saturday February 1
st and Sunday February 2
nd. Saturday, they face off against Wagner and Siena at 8:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Sunday, they take on Whittier and LIU at 11:30 a.m. and 1:50 p.m.
Overview- Lead by a strong group of freshman and upperclassmen, the Red Flash look to start off the season strong against some tough competition.
SFU anticipates to come out on top this year against Wager where they have not bee able to pull of a win in the two meetings of these two teams. Both games the Flash only scored a total of 6 points in both competitions.
The Red Flash look to keep their four-game winning streak alive when they take on Siena Saturday afternoon. The last time these two teams met was in 2018. SFU has outscored Siena 50 points to 40 points.
This will be the third meeting between SFU and Whittier. They split the two games where in 2018 the Red Flash won 13-7 and in 2017 they lost 7-11. They look to take the series lead come this weekend.
This will be the first matchup against Saint Francis and LIU. This is the first season where LIU competes as a collegiate team. The Red Flash want to come out on top and take the first matchup win.
