Sweetney signs with Zob Ahan Isfahan in Iran

ISFAHAN, Iran – Saint Francis men's basketball alum Devin Sweetney has signed with Zob Ahan Isfahan of the Iranian Super League, the organization announced Saturday.

Sweetney, who is entering his 11th professional season in 2020-21, split the last year between Bigua in Uruguay and Panionios in the Greek B League. The 6-6 swingman averaged 15.3 points per game in Uruguayan League play.

The 2010 Saint Francis alum was the No. 4 overall pick in the NBA G-League Draft that year by the Tulsa 66ers. Sweetney has played in 13 different countries on four continents in his career. He was the 2013 NBL Canada Most Valuable Player with the Moncton Miracles and won a 2014 Swiss League championship with the Lugano Tigers. Sweetney has played in The Basketball Tournament three times and appeared in the preseason with the Denver Nuggets in 2015.

Sweetney appeared in 109 games and started 105 in his SFU career from 2006-10. He ranks ninth on the Red Flash all-time scoring list with 1,529 career points and 15th in rebounding with 754.
