NEC to host Virtual Basketball Media Days

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Northeast Conference will hold its 2020 Virtual Basketball Media Days Wednesday and Thursday in anticipation of the upcoming season.

Keila Whittington and senior
Karson Swogger will represent the Red Flash for the NEC Women's Basketball Virtual Media Day Wednesday at noon on
ESPN3 and
NEC Front Row.
The Red Flash women's program enters its second season with Whittington at the helm and returns 75% of minutes played from last season. Swogger (11.5 ppg) and senior
Haley Thomas (10.5) provide Whittington two double-digit scorers from last season, while SFU's three leading rebounders – junior
Jada Dapaa, Thomas, and sophomore
Katie Dettwiller – return to make an impact on the glass.
Saint Francis will aim for its NEC-leading 13
th conference championship this winter.
Red Flash men's basketball coach
Rob Krimmel and senior
Ramiir Dixon-Conover will join the
ESPN3 and
NEC Front Row broadcasts Thursday for the NEC Men's Basketball Virtual Day that begins at noon.
Dixon-Conover is part of a returning core for 2020-21 that includes senior
Mark Flagg, junior
Myles Thompson, and redshirt-junior
Tyler Stewart, four members of the Red Flash who averaged double-digit minutes in SFU's 22-win season a year ago. The Red Flash won 20-plus games for the first time in 30 years last winter and made a trip to the NEC Championship game for the third time in four seasons.
Krimmel, who enters his ninth season as head coach this winter, ranks second in program history with 119 victories.
NEC preseason coaches' polls will be revealed during the broadcasts, which will be hosted by Craig D'Amico and Pam Roecker for Wednesday's show and Dave Popkin and Joe DeSantis Thursday. Dan Gardella (Wednesday) and Ryan Peters (Thursday) will contribute as well.
