Bloomington, Ind. – The Saint Francis University Water Polo teams heads west as they travel to Indiana University to compete in the Indiana Classic on Saturday February 15
th and Sunday February 16
th. Here they will have three matchups, two on Saturday against the host Indiana University and an unfamiliar squad, Villanova University. Then, one Sunday where they go head to head against another new competitor, California Baptist University.
Matchup Overview's –
The first battle of the day on Saturday is against host, Indiana University at 10:30 a.m. This is their first matchup since 2018, where the Hoosier's beat SFU 5-15. These two squads have only competed two other times against each other. SFU has not yet been able to come out on top with a win against a tough Indiana squad and have not yet been able to get within 10 points of them. The Red Flash are looking to give it a shot at a win this upcoming weekend.
Nest up on Saturday will be against Villanova University at 4:00 p.m. These two teams have not yet competed against each other, so the Flash look to take the first career victory over the wildcats this upcoming weekend. Villanova is coming off a tournament where they were swept and went 0-4 last weekend.
The last matchup for the weekend for SFU is against California Baptist University at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. This is as well the first time these two squads will meet up to battle it out for a first career win. CBU is coming off a three-game win streak, and with the momentum on their side, the Flash will look to shut down the Lancers quickly and regain momentum.
Player's to keep an eye on- With a strong freshman class continuing to step up their game, there are many players to watch come this weekend.

Addison Williams (Clovis, Calif/Sanger High School ) lead the Flash last weekend with six goals and thirteen shots on goal and is sure one to keep an eye on.

Carissa Semple (Sakatchewan, Canada) had three goals in the matchup against George Washington and added 5 steals for the Red Flash.

Heather Jacobson (San Jose, Calif./Presentation High School ) tallied twenty-three saves on the weekend with only allowing fifteen goals.
Freshman
Taylor Halbauer (Edmonton, Canada/Mother Maragret Mary) accumulated the most turnovers for SFU last weekend, tallying 5 and will look to be aggressive once again this coming weekend.
Sophomore
Breanna Dupperon (Regina, Canada/Campbell Collegiate) made four goals in ten shots on goal as well as accumulating three turnovers for the Flash.
The Red Flash compete Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. then again on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. A Full recap will follow.
