Men's tennis drops matches to Toledo and Wayne State

Toledo, Ohio – Saint Francis men's tennis dropped 7-0 decisions to Toledo and Wayne State on Friday at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club.

Facing the Warriors, Sebastian Pinos (Quito, Ecuador/Compuinformatica) fell at No. 1 singles to Niklas Karcz, 6-0, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, WSU's Pierre Renaudie won over Andrew Teixeira (Sao Paulo, Brazil/ETEC Getúlio Vargas), 6-0, 6-4. The Warriors' Luke Laws was the first off the court after winning 7-6 (2), 6-1 over Daniel Vinces (Lima, Peru/Universidad de Piura) at No. 3 singles.

SFU's Jordi Garcia (Barcelona, Spain/IES Vallès) fell at No. 4 to Max Rink, 6-2, 6-2. Wayne State's Dom Spicer knocked off Christian Banti (Pisa, Italy/IISS Antonio Pesenti) at No. 5, 6-2, 6-2. The Red Flash's Samuel Ghigiarelli (Aruja, Brazil/Jacksonville College) dropped a 6-2, 7-5 decision to David Solar.

In No. 1 doubles, Karcz and Laws won over Derek Roehner (Weston, FL/Cypress Bay) and Garcia, 6-2. Spicer and Solar battled to a 7-5 victory over Pinos and Teixeira at No. 2 doubles. Banti and Vinces fell at No. 3 to Rink and Renaudie, 6-3.

Saint Francis returns to action hosting Carnegie Mellon on Saturday, Feb. 29. First serve at the Ebensburg Tennis Center is set for 3 p.m.
