» Saint Francis University women's volleyball claimed the victory over the Warriors of Merrimack College in straight sets, 3-0 on Friday.
» Madi Tyus (Plano, Texas/Bishop Lynch) led the match in kills with 14. While Nicole Adams (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa East) followed closely behind with 10 kills on the day.
» Kimmy Sweeney (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Beaumont School) and Maggie Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) led the game with two serving aces a piece.
» Maggie Means (Connellsville, Pa./ Connellsville Area) led her squad with 12 digs in the three-set victory.
TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Tyus put the Red Flash on the board in the first set, 1-0. The team never allowed the Warriors to take the lead in the first set. Saint Francis led by as many as 15 points in the first set and in the match. The Red Flash inevitably clinched the first set, 25-11. The squad was fueled from claiming this set to continue to dominate and clinch the next two sets.
FLASH MOMENTS
Merrimack took the first and only lead of the game in the second set. However, the 1-0 lead did not last long. Another kill from Tyus put the Red Flash back on top to never allow the Warriors to lead again in the second set or in the entire contest. The Red Flash went on a 6-0 run. However, Merrimack hustled back to go on a 5-0 run. A couple of back-to-back kills from Adams sealed the second set, 25-14 for the Red Flash.
Red Flash volleyball got on the board first in the third set, followed by Merrimack to tie the set 1-1. However, Saint Francis went on a 3-0 run to never allow the Warriors to come back on top. Although Merrimack came back within two on a couple of occasions the Red Flash were still able to claim the third set, 25-15.

The last time the two teams faced each other was on October 25, 2019, when Saint Francis also won in straight sets.
The victory on Friday marks a three-game win streak for Red Flash women's volleyball against Merrimack.
Additionally, the win on Friday marks the fourth victory in straight sets this season for the Red Flash.
For Tyus, this marks her 23rd consecutive game where she collected double digit kills. While it was Adams' fifth consecutive game earning double digit kills.
