TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
With time dwindling down in regulation, Rachel Ruttenberg went from right to left in front of the goal and eluded a defender and the goalkeeper to hit the back of the cage with 28 seconds left. Saint Francis was able to get the ball into the offensive zone, but a foul was called and time expired without a shot attempt.
FLASH MOMENTS
Saint Francis had 12 shots on the afternoon including eight on goal.
Eva Valentini (Junin, Buenos Aires, Argentina) had four shots turned away on the afternoon in the 15th, 21st, 35th and 51st minute. Her shot with 10 minutes and one second remaining was the final scoring chance for the team.
In the second quarter, the Loretto program had a flurry of shots in a span of under a minute.
Claudia Ortiz (Madrid, Spain), Valentini,
Carysse Norris (Narvon, Pa.) each had chance turned away from the netminder, while
Ella Maillie (Reading, Pa.) had a shot blocked in this span.
Mallie had a scoring chance thwarted in the 28th minute before halftime and
Julia Breneman (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) had a scoring chance stopped in the 47th minute.
FLASH NUGGETS
Knepsheild, Alderson and Viera all were in the starting lineup for senior day. Viera registered a shot on the afternoon.
The Red Flash were shutout for the fifth time this season, but only the second time at home.
Saint Francis has lost four games in a row for the second time this season. The squad opened the season with four losses, but then rolled off three-straight wins.
The Loretto program played six of its first 11 games at DeGol Field, but will now only have two home matches in its final seven games.
