Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-0 on Saturday

» Women's Volleyball claimed the victory over the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson in three straight sets on Saturday.
» Nicole Adams (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa East) led the team in kills with 16 to put Adams at 264 on the season.  
» Kimmy Sweeney (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Beaumont School) collected a double-double on the day with 33 assists and 17 digs.
» Madi Tyus (Plano, Texas/Bishop Lynch) collected three serving aces on the day. To put her at 18 serving aces on the season.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
The Knights took the lead early in the first and second set. However, the Red Flash took the lead early to go on a 4-0 run to start and never allowed Fairleigh Dickinson to take the lead in the third and final set. Saint Francis inevitably claimed the third and final set, 25-11.

FLASH MOMENTS
The Knights led the Red Flash by as much as three in the first set. However, the Red Flash came fighting back to tie the set, 11-11 and eventually take the lead, 13-12 with a serving ace from Nicole Adams and never allowed Fairleigh Dickinson to take the lead again in the first set. Back-to-back kills from Adams and Tyus allowed the Saint Francis to secure the first set, 25-19.
 
The Knights took an early lead over the Red Flash to start the second set. However, the Red Flash hustled back to tie the set on several occasions and were finally able to take the lead, 10-9 over FDU after a kill from Sophie Rice (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley). A 7-0 run allowed the Red Flash to maintain the lead for the remainder of the second set. A kill from Sweeney sealed the second set for the Red Flash, 25-17.

FLASH NUGGETS
The Red Flash are now 4-1 in Northeast Conference play.

Tyus collected 15 kills on the day and continues to lead the Red Flash in kills with 291.
 
Sweeney had a perfect 4-for-4 in the match against FDU on Saturday.

UP NEXT
The Red Flash will travel to North Andover, Mass., to take on Merrimack Friday, October 15 at 6:00 p.m.
