TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
West Virginia scored 21 of the game's first 22 points, as Saint Francis' only point was made on a free throw by Jenna Mastellone. During the Mountaineer run, 2022 Women's Naismith Trophy Watch List nominee Esmery Martinez scored five points.
 
The Mountaineers held a 27-8 lead after the first quarter and headed into halftime with a 47-19 advantage. Martinez led the half with 13 points and six rebounds. Mastellone led the Red Flash with seven points in the half.

Freshman guard Maria McConnell scored the first points of her collegiate career at the end of the first half, which marked the only made three-point shot in the half.
 
Adison Novosel entered in the game's final minutes and converted her second three-point shot of the season and is now two-for-two.
