Women’s Basketball Drops Matchup at Toledo

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
» The Red Flash dropped their second game of the season against a MAC opponent with their 86-33 loss at Toledo.
» Kaitlyn Maxwell scored a team-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
The Rockets started Wednesday's game with an 8-0 run, led by six points from Garcia. After Jordan McLemore scored on a layup and Dapaa converted one free throw, Toledo ended the quarter on a 12-2 run. The Rockets' Jayda Jansen capped off the quarter with a buzzer-beating layup.
 
Toledo went into halftime with a 36-11 lead and allowed only four points in the first 8:41 of the second quarter. Garcia led the game with 11 points at the half and finished with a game-high 20 to lead the Rockets to an 86-33 win.

FLASH MOMENTS
Freshman Maria McConnell scored the first two-point field goal of her collegiate career in the first quarter.
 
Maxwell scored 13 of her 15 points in the third quarter behind shooting 3-of-4 from three-point territory.

FLASH NUGGETS
Maxwell scored 15-or-more points for the third time this season. She tied her season-high with three made three pointers.
 
Freshman Layla Laws played a career-high 15:21 and matched her career-high with four points.

The Red Flash travel to Duquesne on Saturday, Dec. 11 for a 5 p.m. tip-off before an eight-day break.
