LORETTO, P.A. – The Red Flash field hockey team fell to James Madison University by a score of 3-0 on Sunday.
Most of the game being played in front of her net, Chloe South (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) was able to thwart a career high 13 of the Dukes' 18 shots on goal, including 5 in the 1st quarter, 3 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd, and 4 in the 4th.
Saint Francis was held silent in shots until the fourth quarter when their best chance to score came off of a penalty corner with 3:34 left in the game when back to back chances from Eva Valentini (Junin, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Marianista Junin) and Riley Kromer (Lancaster, N.Y./Sweet Home) were snuffed out by James Madison's defense.
James Madison scored 1 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd, and 1 in the 4th to notch their second win on the season and to continue their home winning streak that goes back to October 25, 2019.
The Red Flash finish their road trip on Friday, September 3 at 3 p.m. when they travel to Providence, R.I. to face the Brown Bears and will return to Loretto, P.A. on Sunday, September 5 at 12 p.m. when they face Ball State.
