Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Falls to Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-0

TEANECK, N.J.- Saint Francis University women's soccer fell to Fairleigh Dickinson University, 3-0 in the first Northeast Conference match of the season on Sunday.
 
Sarah McConnon (Springfield, Pa./Lower Merion Club) turned away nine shots in the match. This puts the Saint Francis University sophomore at 43 saves this season in her first collegiate campaign. The Springfield, Pa., native connected on her final save when Fairleigh Dickinson's, Alyssa Caggiano attempted another shot, but McConnon denied the Knights to extend its lead.
 
The Knights scored once early in the first half and scored its other two goals in the second stanza.
 
Tomke Dziesiaty (Tornesch, Germany/Klaus-Groth-Schule Tornesch) aimed for the bottom center of the goal to put up one shot on goal for the team at the 71:37 mark but was denied by the only save of the game from Fairleigh Dickinson's Goalkeeper, Malene Nielsen. Dziesiaty now has three shots on goal for her freshman season.
 
The Red Flash collected a total of five shots on the day. Dziesiaty and Rhiallie Jessell (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) collected two shots a piece in the match. The first shot in the contest came from Aleigh Heckman (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) for a chance to tie the game at the 30:27 mark but went out top.
 
The Red Flash will continue conference play by staying on the road to Staten Island, N.Y. as they take on the Seahawks of Wagner College on Thursday, September 23. Game time is 5 p.m.
