Saint Francis Field Hockey Falls To Longwood, 3-1

» Longwood University defeated Saint Francis 3-1 in non-conference field hockey action on Saturday in Ohio.
» Julia Breneman (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) scored off a Claudia Ortiz (Madrid, Spain) assist in the closing minutes of the game.
» Chloe South (Lusby, Md.) made three saves for the Red Flash.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
The Lancers scored the first three goals of the game with one goal in the second quarter and two in the third quarter.

FLASH MOMENTS
With two minutes and 18 seconds left in the game, Breneman notched her third goal of the season off a pass from Ortiz for the Red Flash's only shot on goal on the afternoon.

FLASH NUGGETS
Breneman ranks second on the team with three goals for six points. The sophomore has posted a tally in three of her last four matches, while her first two goals of the year were the decisive goals in wins against Lock Haven and Drexel.

Amber Bryan made her collegiate debut in the game in goal wit 20:23 minutes in between the pipes.

Eva Valentini (Junin, Buenos Aires, Argentina), the current Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, had her streak of four-straight games with a goal stopped. The freshman leads the team with five goals and one assist for 11 points.

The loss ended the Red Flash's three-game winning streak. The squad also had a three-game winning streak in 2019.

Saint Francis concludes its two games in Ohio at Miami (Ohio) on Sunday. Game time is 2 p.m. The Red Flash return to Loretto to host its first Northeast Conference game since 2012 against Wagner College on October 1. Match time is 3 p.m.
