TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME

The biggest turning point in the game came from the second set. The Sharks claimed the first set, but that did not slow the Red Flash down, the squad found the spark it needed to claim the next two sets.

Additionally, after Long Island University claimed the fourth set, the Red Flash found a huge spark and claimed the advantage in the fifth set.

FLASH MOMENTS

Although the Sharks claimed the first set, 25-17 the Red Flash squad featured some phenomenal kills even coming within one point of taking the advantage on several occasions throughout the set.

The second set started off as a back and forth battle between the two teams, but ended up being an all Red Flash affair to clinch the second set, 25-17. The squad was down 9-6 in the set, but with a kill from Tyus, the team took the lead and never looked back. Back-to-back service aces from Fenton gave the Red Flash its biggest lead of the set, 23-14.

The third set was mostly owned by the Red Flash going on several big runs throughout the set. However, the Sharks came back to tie on several occasions, but that didn't slow Saint Francis down. The only time that Long Island took the lead in this set was towards the very end to make it, 21-20. A kill from Sweeney tied it 21-21. Followed by a couple kills from Tyus gave the squad the two point advantage, 23-21. Combined kills from Adams and Tyus gave the Red Flash the third set, 25-22.

The fourth set was an intense competition between the two schools. The Red Flash had control for the majority of the set. However, the Sharks took the lead towards the end of the set, 23-22. However, the force of kills that came from Adams and Tyus again in the match made the Sharks of Long Island struggle to claim the extended fourth set, 28-26.

The final set was all Red Flash on the court and in the stands of DeGol Arena. The back to back service aces from Means, a service ace from Adams, followed by kills from Maggie Hogan, Sweeney and Tyus ultimately gave the Red Flash the final set, 15-9 to claim the match.
