Madi Tyus (Plano, Texas/Bishop Lynch) has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week and
Maggie Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) earns Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Tyus and Hogan led Saint Francis University women's volleyball to go 2-0 in Northeast Conference play this past week for the first time since 2014 after the two combined for 54 kills on the week. Tyus tallied out the weekend with 35 kills and 42.5 points. While Hogan collected 19 kills, 20 digs and four aces.

On Friday, for the team's first conference matchup of the season against St. Francis Brooklyn, Tyus led her team in kills with 11, serving aces with three and hit a .240 on the day for the Red Flash to beat the Terriers in a three-set sweep (25-19, 25-20, 25-22).

Hogan came in second with nine kills in the team's match against St. Francis Brooklyn on Friday, while also hitting .304 and collecting four digs on the day for the Red Flash. Â

Tyus and Hogan both continued to dominate in a five-set thrilling victory for the Red Flash over the Sharks of Long Island University to go 2-0 in conference play and end a 33-match losing streak to LIU.

Tyus once again led her team in kills with 24 and came in second with four blocks on the day. Tyus' final kill of Saturday's matchup secured the 3-2 victory for the Red Flash.

Hogan led Saint Francis University on Saturday with four aces, while collecting a double-double on the day with 10 kills and 16 digs.

After Tyus' grand performance this past week, she leads her team with 227 kills and now has 139 digs, 256.5 points and 12 service aces for the season.

Hogan now has 73.0 points, seven assists, seven serving aces, 47 digs and is third on her team with 61 kills coming closely in behind the senior leaders of the Red Flash.

The Red Flash continue conference play on Friday as they take on Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
