LORETTO, Pa.  – Saint Francis University football defeated Central Connecticut 39-13 in its first home game to move to 2-0 in conference play this season. This was the third straight game the Red Flash won by at least 19 points.

Elijah Sarratt led the offense with four catches for 50 yards and one touchdown. He also had a 32-yard kick return and one rush for nine yards.
Makai Jackson added four catches for 26 yards and scored a touchdown.

Kicker
Alex Schmoke led the game off with a field goal in the first five minutes, before Central Connecticut's long snapper sent a punt snap through the endzone for a safety. With a 5-0 lead after one quarter, Jackson and Armstead each scored a touchdown in the second and opened a 19-0 lead.

With 1:09 remaining in the first half, Central Connecticut's Luquay Washington returned a 47-yard interception for a touchdown. After Ali blocked the extra point, Saint Francis took a 19-6 lead into the half. In the third quarter, both teams traded a touchdown and Saint Francis led 26-13 after three quarters.

Sarratt scored his second touchdown of the season with under 12 minutes remaining in the game and opened a 32-13 lead.
Jordan Jackson added another touchdown in the final two minutes before Saint Francis sealed its 39-13 victory.

Flash Nuggets
The three-game winning streak is Saint Francis' longest since Oct. 21 to Nov. 12 during the 2016 season. With the victory, Saint Francis has now started conference play 2-0 for the past four seasons.

Kendal Marks recorded the first interception of his collegiate career, while
Travell Cook recorded an interception for the second consecutive game.

Despite only 26 receiving yards, Jackson scored a touchdown for the fourth game in a row, while Sarratt has now scored in back-to-back games.

With 6.5 tackles for loss this season, Brown is two-shy of his team-high 8.5 during the 2021 season.
