THE WORD ON THE PIONEERS
Sacred Heart is 2-6 on the season under the direction of interim head coach Anthony Anzevui. The Pioneers have wins over nonconference Holy Cross and Hartford. The program's most recent loss came from NEC ranked No. 3 FDU, 2-0.
Leading the Pioneers is graduate student Lucas Miquel Castrillo who has one goal and three assists for a combined five points on the season. Behind Castrillo is first year student Javier Lopez Cayuela who has three points on the season, coming from a goal and an assist. Justin Seigel has started in goal for all eight of the Pioneers' matches. The senior has allowed 15 goals, registered 22 saves and faced 86 shots this season.
The program went 2-10-5 last season with NEC wins over Saint Francis and Mount St. Mary's.
Sacred Heart was voted seventh in the NEC Preseason Poll above Howard and Stonehill.
LAST TIME WE MET
The Pioneers defeated the Red Flash last season in Connecticut, 2-1. Saint Francis recorded 22 shots and six shots on goal in the match.
Saint Francis leads the all-time series against Sacred Heart 19-3-2 with matches dating back to 1999.
