BUFFALO, N.Y. – Saint Francis University women's tennis concluded its 2022 fall season with a victory against Binghamton and loss against Buffalo on Oct. 16.
The Red Flash lost the doubles point in both matches and
Anoek Pruijmboom and
Valeria Vinces record the only match victory 6-4 in No. 3 doubles against Binghamton.
Bente Vandeputte recorded the only victory against Buffalo and also won her match against Binghamton, both in the No. 2 slot.
Kelly Dowuona narrowly lost her match against Buffalo 2-6, 6-4, 7-10 before she won against Binghamton 6-4, 7-5.
Nagisa Miyake, Vinces and Pruijmboom all recorded singles victories over Binghamton to seal the 5-2 first head-to-head victory of the season.
Dowuona and Vandeputte led women's tennis with an 8-6 record during the fall. The duo also combined for the best doubles record at 5-2 and Vinces and
Dominique Yeo had the best doubles team winning percentage at .800. Individually, Dowuona led the Red Flash with nine doubles wins, followed by Pruijmboom's eight and Vandeputte's seven.
As a team, the Red Flash went 48-67 in singles and 30-28 in doubles during the fall season.
Saint Francis women's tennis will look towards the spring season, with the schedule to be released at a date to be determined.
