Saint Francis Drops Their Regular Season Finale To Central Connecticut State

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> The Red Flash dropped their last regular season match of the year to Central Connecticut State by a final score of 2-0.
>> Sarah McConnon notched four saves for Saint Francis and finished the regular season with 68, as she is one of the NEC leaders in total saves.
>> Lauren Pyle led the Red Flash with three shots on goal, and she finished the season as the team leader in that category with 19 shots on goal.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
After a back and forth start to the match it was the Blue Devils who broke open the score in the 25th minute to give Central Connecticut State the early lead. The Blue Devils used their defense to their advantage not allowing the Red Flash to gain too many open looks at the net for a majority of the match. Central Connecticut State then eventually added a second goal late in the match to help them secure first place in the conference.

FLASH MOMENTS
The Red Flash had four corner kicks in the match with one of those being a near goal in the first half from Pyle.

The back line defense once again put in effort for the entire 90 minutes with Corinne Renninger, Rory Schaeffer, and Savannah Schoonmaker playing the entire match.

UP NEXT
The Red Flash will stay on the road to start postseason play as they'll travel to Fairleigh Dickinson to play the Knights this Sunday. The time of the match is to be determined but it will be streamed on NEC Front Row. Saint Francis ended up in a tie against FDU the last time these two teams met this season, as that match was played at Stokes Soccerplex in Loretto.
