Men’s Soccer Set for Regular Season Finale Against Howard

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis men's soccer will host Howard in their final regular season contest Thursday, November 3 at 3:00 p.m. at the Stokes Soccerplex.
 
>> The match will be streamed on NEC Front Row and Live Stats will be provided.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash ended their match against Stonehill on Sunday in a scoreless draw. The team clinched a spot in the NEC Tournament. The seeding will be determined after all of Thursday's matches.
 
Goalkeeper Jordaine Jaeger was named the NEC Rookie of the Week and earned a spot on the Prime Performers list for his four saves against the Skyhawks.

THE WORD ON THE BISON
Howard is 2-11-1 on the season and 0-7 on the road. The Bison collected wins against nonconference VMI, 4-3 and NEC opponent CCSU, 2-1. The program is currently last in the conference standings with four points. Last season the Bison went 3-10-3 and 2-6-1 in the NEC.
 
Returning for Howard is sophomore forward Bryson Baker who has started all 13 matches and is the team's leading goal scorer with six goals and one assist. Baker is currently fourth in the conference in shots taken with 45.
 
Freshman goalkeeper JR Gawel has started 12 matches for the Bison. Gawel has allowed 37 goals this season and has made 77 saves. He has a save percentage of .654.
 
The Bison are under the direction of Phillip Gyau who is in eighth season as head coach with the program. Howard was predicted to finish eighth in the NEC Preseason Poll.

LAST TIME WE MET
Saint Francis dropped their last match against Howard in 2021, 0-2. The Red Flash lead the all-time series, 11-2, with matches dating back to 2003.

UP NEXT
The NEC Quarterfinals are set for Sunday, November 6 and the Semifinals are Thursday, November 10. Seeding and times will be released Thursday night.
