Volleyball Looks to Conclude 2022 Home Slate

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis University women's volleyball will complete its home slate of the 2022 season this weekend by taking on LIU on Friday, Nov. 4 at 5:00 p.m. and St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 5:00 p.m.

THE WORD ON THE SHARKS
LIU women's volleyball stands at 11-11 overall and 6-4 in the Northeast Conference. Most recently, the Sharks came up short in a five-set thriller to NEC top ranked, Sacred Heart, but took a straight set win over Central Connecticut.
 
Anastasia Scott leads the team as a libero with 448 digs on the season, while Barbora Hoskova leads the Sharks in kills with 215 this season. Allie Merz stands on top as a setter for the Sharks with 418 assists this season.  
 
LAST TIME WE MET THE SHARKS
The Red Flash last met the Sharks earlier this season in Brooklyn, N.Y. when the Red Flash dropped in a four-set matchup. The Sharks hold the advantage in the overall series at 39-11 over the Red Flash.
 
THE WORD ON THE TERRIERS
St. Francis Brooklyn stands at 11-16 overall and 4-6 in the Northeast Conference. The Terriers went 1-1 last weekend after defeating Central Connecticut in straight sets, but dropping straight sets to Sacred Heart.

Camelia Melendez leads St. Francis Brooklyn offensively with 354 kills and 31 service aces on the season. Selina Koc continues to lead the Terriers as a setter with 444 assists. Alasha Colon and Cristal Paulino lead the team defensively. Colon with 331 digs and Paulino with 64.0 blocks this season.
 
LAST TIME WE MET THE TERRIERS
The Red Flash and Terriers last met earlier this season in Brooklyn, N.Y. when the Terriers defeated the Red Flash over a five-set thriller. The Red Flash hold the overall advantage against St. Francis Brooklyn at 38-10 overall.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash currently stand at No. 4 in the Northeast Conference after going 2-0 on the road last weekend to defeat Stonehill in five sets and Merrimack in straight sets. Saint Francis volleyball is 8-15 overall and 6-4 in conference.
 
Madi Tyus and Emma Fenton were named to the NEC Prime Performer list for the fourth consecutive week after each of their stellar performances last weekend.
 
Tyus continues to lead the Red Flash as an outside hitter with 253 kills on the season, while Fenton continues to lead her squad as the setter with 765 assists this season.
 
UP NEXT

Following this weekend, the Red Flash will head to Connecticut to conclude its final two matches of regular season action. The team will face Central Connecticut on Friday, Nov. 11 at 5:00 p.m. and Sacred Heart on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5:00 p.m.
