Volleyball Sweeps St. Francis Brooklyn for Fourth Straight Win

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis University women's volleyball claimed a straight set win over the Terriers of St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday to go 8-4 in the Northeast Conference and 10-15 overall.
 
>> Madi Tyus (Plano, Texas/Bishop Lynch) notched her second double-double of the weekend in Saturday's win with 14 kills and 18 digs. Emma Fenton (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) also recorded a double-double with 40 assists and 12 digs.
 
>> Skye Eicher (Rostraver Township, Pa./Frazier) followed closely in behind Tyus with 14 kills, while also notching six digs. Aubrey Deptula (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton Community) led the Red Flash with three blocks for seven blocks on the weekend.
 
>> Sydney Scott (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) and Jeanie Edgington (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmstead Falls) were honored for Senior Day prior to Saturday's match for their hard work and dedication to Saint Francis women's volleyball for the past four years.
 
TURNING POINT OF THE GAME

The Red Flash started off the match with a 5-0 run, but the Terriers rallied back in the first set to take its first and only lead of the first set to make the score 9-8. However, once the Terriers took the lead the Red Flash responded with another 5-0 run to take the lead and maintain it for the remainder of the first set. A kill from Deptula gave the Red Flash set one, 25-18.
 
FLASH MOMENTS
The Terriers got on the board first in the second set for St. Francis Brooklyn's first and only lead of set two. The Red Flash claimed the second set 25-19 with a set point kill from Eicher.
 
The third set started off back-and-forth between the Terriers and Red Flash. However, with set three tied at five, the Red Flash secured a 2-0 run to take the lead an keep it for the remainder of set three. The Red Flash secured the third and final set, 25-16.
 
FLASH NUGGETS 

Today's win marks the fourth consecutive win for the Red Flash and the third consecutive straight set victory.
 
The Red Flash continue to hold the advantage against St. Francis Brooklyn at 39-10 in the overall series.
 
UP NEXT
The Red Flash will next conclude regular season action on the road in Connecticut by taking on Central Connecticut State on Friday, Nov. 11 at 5:00 p.m. and Sacred Heart on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5:00 p.m. A win over Central Connecticut would clinch a spot in the Northeast Conference Tournament for the Red Flash.
