» The indoor track & field teams competed at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Indoor Track & Field Championships in Staten Island, New York Feb. 20 – 21.
» The Red Flash picked up five individual event victories by Adrian Page (Coudersport, Pa.), Emily Lunger (Sayre, Pa.), Nickolas Hyde (Somerset, Pa.), Jackson Tuomey (Brunswick, Md.) and the relay team of Zachary Kohler (Warriors Mark, Pa.), Ardonntrell Williams (Voorhees, N.J.), Matthew Berzonsky (Indiana, Pa.) and Tobias Jones (Grove City, Pa.).
» Tuomey broke the NEC Championships pole vault record and set a new Saint Francis all-time record in the event.
» The women's team placed fourth in the competition, while the men's team placed fifth, respectively.
FLASH WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD NUGGETS
The women's performance was highlighted by Page and Lunger's victories and six podium finishes.
Page's shot put was good for 13.46m. Page's performance lands her on the sixth spot on the Saint Francis all-time performance list in the event and is a personal best for the thrower.
Lunger cleared 1.67m in the women's high jump. Her victory matched her number three ranking all-time.
Caroline Ratchford (Ebensburg, Pa.) tied for second in the high jump. Ratchford cleared 1.61m in the event, placing her fifth all-time.
Marlena Jacobs (Adams Center, N.Y.) placed third in the pole vault, clearing 3.60m. Jacobs' pole vault earned her the number three spot all-time and improved her personal best by a tenth of a meter.
In the 60m dash, the Red Flash led a 2,3,4 sweep.
Mylan Crews (West Alexandria, Ohio) paved the way, crossing the finish line at 7.57. Behind Crews,
Jalurah Moore (Blakeslee, Pa.) clocked a time of 7.69. Rounding out the women's 60m dash,
Aaliyah Vandergrift (Lindenwold, N.J.) finished with a time of 7.74.
Crews and Moore also competed in the 200m. Moore placed second (24.90) and Crews placed third (25.19).
FLASH MEN'S TRACK & FIELD NUGGETS
The men's performance was highlighted by Tuomey's record breaking pole vault. Tuomey cleared 5.00m, setting a new pole vault record at the NEC Championships. The previous mark of 4.90m was set by Wagner's Noel Del Cerro in 2018. For the second time this season, Tuomey set a new Saint Francis all-time record in the event. Tuomey initially broke the record earlier this season at the Gulden Invitational with a mark of 4.95m.
The distance medley relay team of Kohler, Williams, Berzonsky and Jones finished with a time of 10:11.40.
Hyde's first place shot put was good for 17.30m and improved his season best mark by .02m.
The men's team tabbed three podium finishes. Williams finished second in the men's 60m hurdles, clocking a time of 8.03.
Taemar Willis (York, Pa.) took third with a mark of 1.96m in the high jump. Jones' one-mile performance was good for third place with a time of 4:16.54.
