LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's tennis defeated West Liberty 7-0 while they dropped a match to Penn State 6-1 on Senior Day. The win against West Liberty is Saint Francis' first shutout victory of the season.

Singles
Saint Francis won five of the six singles matches played.
Fabio Varella led the charge with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-6) victory in No. 1 singles followed by a 6-2, 6-2 win for
Marc Fuste in No. 2 singles.
Andrew Teixeira won his No. 3 singles match 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 that clinched the Red Flash victory.
Jordi Garcia dominated 6-1, 6-2 in No. 4 singles while
Christian Banti won with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-0) victory in No. 5. Freshman
Matt Kozar rounded out the Red Flash wins with a 7-6, 6-2 win in No. 6 singles. He has won both matches he played this season.
Doubles
The Red Flash took two of the three doubles matches to earn the point. Seniors
Sebastian Pinos and
Daniel Vinces won 6-3 in No. 1 doubles and
Jordi Garcia and
Samuel Ghigiarelli won 7-5 in No. 2 doubles to clinch the point.
Matt Blose and
Zachary Palko dropped their No. 3 doubles match 6-4.
The match for Pinos, Vinces, Ghigiarelli and Blose marked the final regular season participation for the four seniors.

Singles
Penn State won five of the six singles matches played to earn the win in Saint Francis' first match of the day. Banti produced the only Red Flash victory with a 6-3, 6-4 win in No. 6 singles. All-five Saint Francis losses were decided in two sets, the closest a 3-6, 4-6 loss for Teixeira in No. 4 singles.
Doubles
The Nittany Lions took two-of-three singles matches to earn the point. Palko and Vinces earned a No. 3 doubles win 7-6 (7-4), though Penn State already clinched the point with wins in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
