» The Saint Francis University outdoor track & field teams hosted the Red Flash Open Saturday at DeGol Field.
» The Red Flash recorded 50 top-five finishes in 31 men and women events.
» Five facility and meet records were broken by Nickolas Hyde (Somerset, Pa.), Madeline Murphy (Cresson, Pa.), Jackson Tuomey (Brunswick, Md.) and Jalaurah Moore (Blakeslee, Pa.).
» Three Saint Francis records were set on Saturday. Hyde broke the shot put record, while Murphy broke the Saint Francis long and triple jump records.

FLASH WOMEN TRACK & FIELD NUGGETS
The Red Flash women produced nine first-place finishes, two of those victories belong to Murphy. Murphy claimed the long jump school record with a mark of 5.83m. The school record previously belonged to Nicole Armfield, clearing 5.68m back in 2001.
Murphy also improved her own school record in the triple jump she set just three weeks ago. The junior cleared 12.47m surpassing her previous mark of 12.37m.
Moore broke her own facility and meet records of 24.90 in the 200m dash she set back in 2019. The senior clocked a 24.33 to take first place.
In the hammer throw, senior
Katherine McLaughlin (Berkeley Springs, W.Va.) threw for a first-place mark of 49.13m. McLaughlin's performance solidified her ninth place Saint Francis all-time ranking.
The 4x100m relay team of
Mylan Crews (West Alexandria, Ohio), Moore,
Maria Ferraro () and
Aaliyah Vandergrift finished first with a time of 46.73. The team is currently ranked first in the NEC in the event.
Marlena Jacobs (Adams Center, N.Y.) took first in the pole vault with a mark of 3.74m, moving her to third Saint Francis all-time.
The Red Flash women also had first place finishes by
Emily Lunger (Sayre, Pa.) in the high jump (1.68m), Crews in the 100m (11.95) and
Kaitlyn Maxwell (Everett, Pa.) in the 800m (2:17.37).
FLASH MEN TRACK & FIELD NUGGETS
The Red Flash men had eight first place finishes, including Hyde's school record shot put mark of 18.03m. The junior previously held the facility, meet and school records in the event with a mark of 17.82m, which he set back in 2021.
Freshman Tuomey set new meet and facility records in the pole vault with a first-place mark of 4.70m. The previous meet record was held by former Red Flashes Ryan Steinbugl in 2014, Easton Plummer in 2019 and Tyler Delozier in 2019 and Mount St. Mary's Carter Holsinger in 2021. All four vaulters tied the meet record with a clearance of 4.60m.
The 4x100m relay team of
Bryce Baker (Harrisburg, Pa.),
Julian Saunders (Boyertown, Pa.),
Samir Smith (Clinton, Md.) and
Ardonntrell Williams (Voorhees, N.J.) clocked a victorious 42.21.
The Red Flash men also had first place finishes by
Matthew Berzonsky (Indiana, Pa.) in the 800m (1:57.16),
Zachary Kohler (Warriors Mark, Pa.) clocked a 3:56.91 in the 1500m,
Tyler Napora (Windber, Pa.) in the 3000m steeplechase (10:15.16),
Brenden Miller (Millersburg, Pa.) in the 3000m (9:01.49) and
Caleb Nelson (Bridgeville, Pa.) in the long jump (6.86m).
