BOX SCORE 2 BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis continued their strong start to the fall season at the Bloomsburg Invitational over the weekend. Both teams only played one day of competition after Sunday's matches were canceled due to weather.
The women went a perfect 8-0 in doubles and 10-6 in singles, with three players qualifying for singles finals before the cancellation. The men went a dominant 14-3 in singles and added a 4-6 record in doubles. The women are now 43-27 overall in the fall and the men are 47-27.
Kelly Dowuona,
Nagisa Miyake and
Dominique Yeo went a perfect 4-0 at the Bloomsburg Invitational with two singles and two doubles wins each. Dowuona now owns a 9-2 record to begin her career, while Miyake, a junior, is now a perfect 5-0 in doubles to start the fall.

Anoek Pruijmboom went 2-0 in doubles matches with Miyake and did not participate in singles.

Matt Kozar,
Patrick Reese and
Andrew Teixeira all went a perfect 2-0 in singles matches and earned a spot in the first-place decisions. Fuste and Teixeira and Bani and Kozar were in the same bracket, respectively, and would not have played the first-place match, regardless of cancellations, because they are teammates.
Reese was the only Red Flash men's player with a 4-0 record at the Bloomsburg Invitational and he now moves to 7-2 to begin his collegiate career. Saint Francis earned six of its 18 overall wins from newcomers.
Women's tennis returns to action with a trip to the Carnegie Mellon Invitational Sept. 16-18, while the men return to action with a split of players between the Mount St. Mary's and Carnegie Mellon Invitationals Sept. 23-25.
