>> Saint Francis University women's volleyball will compete in its final non-conference matches of the 2022 season this Friday and Saturday in Statesboro, Ga.

>> The Red Flash will start the Gata Challenge by facing Chattanooga at 12:00 p.m. and Georgia Southern at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16. The team will then return on Saturday, Sept. 17 to take on Queens at 10:00 a.m. for its final match of the tournament.

THE WORD ON CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs are 5-6 overall this season with four of their last matches being at home. Most recently, Chattanooga defeated UNC Asheville over four sets in a Wednesday evening matchup. Prior to the team's win over the Bulldogs, the Mocs hosted its home tournament in Chattanooga to compete with schools in Duquesne, Southern Indiana, and Miami (OH). The team went 2-1 in the tournament after dropping in five sets to Miami (OH). Just like the Red Flash, the Mocs defeated the Dukes of Duquesne in five sets.

Natalie Tyson leads the way for the Mocs with 139 kills on the season, while Elaine Redman has posted 257 assists for the Chattanooga team this season. Paige Gallentine leads the team with nine service aces and 180 digs on the season.

Friday's match marks the first time the Chattanooga and Saint Francis volleyball programs have faced one another.

THE WORD ON GEORGIA SOUTHERN
The Eagles are 5-4 overall this season with each of their five wins coming in straight sets. Most recently, Georgia Southern volleyball went 0-3 at the Sunshine Invitational with its latest loss coming in three sets to FGCU.

Emily Jarome leads the Eagles in kills with 86 on the season. Ashlyn Lovett leads the way in service aces and digs with 22 and 128, respectively.

Friday's match marks the first time the two teams have competed against one another.

THE WORD ON QUEENS
The Royals are 3-7 overall this season. Most recently, Queens went 1-2 at the Beale Street Challenge, hosted by Memphis. The team defeated Oakland University in five sets. The Royals posted a total of 55 kills, eight service and 90 digs over the five-set victory.

Alleigh Johnson leads the way for the Royals in kills with 116 on the season, while Kaylin Dowling has notched 15 service aces on the season for the Charlotte, N.C. team. Jesse George and Hallie Brown lead the way defensively, George with 146 digs and Brown with 29.0 blocks.

LAST TIME WE MET QUEENS
Saturday's match marks the first time the Red Flash and Royals have competed against one another. However, the Red Flash men's volleyball team have competed with the Royals a total of 14 times for the overall series to be even at 7-7.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash most recently dropped three matches at the Colonel Challenge hosted by Eastern Kentucky. The team's best performance on the weekend came in a five-set thrilling matchup to the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky.

Allison Murray led the way for the Red Flash at the Colonel Challenge last weekend by recording a total of 48 kills and 111 total attacks for a total of 53.5 points over 11 sets.

Freshman
Korrin Burns leads the team with 104 kills on the season and is the first Red Flash women's volleyball Freshman to reach 24 plus kills in a single game since 2001.

Burns collected her first conference award in her career this past Tuesday after her grand performance at Eastern Kentucky to earn Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, while
Emma Fenton and Murray each earned their first spot on the Northeast Conference prime performer list.

Following Saint Francis women's volleyball's tournament at Georgia Southern, the team will start conference action at home on Sept. 23 by taking on new conference member, Stonehill for a 5:00 p.m. matchup.
