LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's volleyball outside hitter
Madi Tyus earned her fourth Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week of her career, while
Aubrey Deptula collected her first NEC Prime Performer recognition of her career, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Tyus led the Red Flash overall this weekend with 50 kills, 153 total attacks, three service aces and 42 digs for a total of 54.5 points over 11 sets, while averaging 4.55 kills per set on the week. The Plano, Texas native's grand performance came in the team's five-set win over Chattanooga when Tyus notched a new Saint Francis women's volleyball program record with 29 kills in the game. In addition, Tyus hit a .357 and had 70 total attacks in the team's win over Chattanooga.
Deptula led the Red Flash with 14 digs and 12.0 blocks. In addition, she recorded 20 kills on the weekend. The middle hitter posted a double-double in the team's win over Chattanooga with ten kills and ten digs in the match. Those ten kills were a new single-game high for Deptula.
Red Flash women's volleyball begins NEC action this weekend by taking on Stonehill on Friday, Sept. 23 at 5:00 p.m. and Merrimack on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 5:00 p.m.
