Saint Francis Field Hockey Falls To Nationally-Ranked JMU

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Olivia Muffitt (Newport, Pa.) and Eva Valentini (Junin, Argentina) both scored goals for Saint Francis University against nationally-ranked James Madison University in non-conference field hockey action on Friday.
>> Chloe South (California, Md.) made five saves in 45 minutes of action for the Red Flash.
 
TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
James Madison, who is ranked No. 18 in the nation, posted five goals in the first quarter and a pair of goals in the second and third quarter to come away with a 9-2 decision.
 
FLASH MOMENTS
Valentini scored the Red Flash first goal unassisted on a shot from center at the 9:26 mark.
 
Muffitt then added a goal at 57:35 when she scored off a loose ball on a feeder by Francesca Primomo (Caledon, Ontario) for the squad's second tally of the afternoon.
 
FLASH NUGGETS
Valentini found the twine for the fifth time this season and has found the back of the cage in four of the seven games this season. The sophomore leads the team with five goals and two assists for 12 points this season and has 13 markers and eight assists for 34 points in 26 games in a Saint Francis uniform. Valentini needs three points to join the program's all-time career Top-10.
 
Muffitt notched her second goal this season after registering a goal against Brown on September 2. She now has four goals and an assist for nine points in her career.
 
Primomo has one goal and one assist for three points this season and in her career. Primomo notched the game-winning goal in the 4-3 overtime win against Holy Cross on September 4.

Saint Francis returns to action and completes a four-game road trip at Lock Haven on Sunday. Game time is 1 p.m.
