TURNING POINT OF THE GAME

The Red Flash controlled the majority of the first set with the Warriors only lead being early at 1-0. Once the Red Flash gained the 2-1 lead, Saint Francis controlled the lead for the remainder of set one. A perfectly placed dig/kill from Means secured the first set for the Red Flash, 25-18. Saint Francis continued its momentum from claiming the first set to be able to go on and claim the next two sets for the straight set victory. Â

FLASH MOMENTS 

Saint Francis started off the second set with an 8-1 run to never allow the Warriors to lead in the second set. Back-to-back kills from Murray and Hogan secured the second set for the Red Flash, 25-17.

The third set started off as more of a back-and-forth battle between both teams. However, with the set tied at six, the Red Flash notched a 6-0 run to make the score 12-6 for the Red Flash to maintain the lead throughout the remainder of the third set. A 3-0 run that featured two service aces from Fenton and a kill from Tyus secured the third and final set for the Red Flash, 25-18.

FLASH NUGGETS 

Saturday's 3-0-win marks the first time the Red Flash have started off conference action with two consecutive straight set wins since 1999.

Allison Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) recorded a new single game high of three service aces in Saturday's victory over the Warriors.

The Red Flash will continue conference action by hitting the road Saturday, Oct. 1 to Teaneck, N.J. to take on the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.Â
