LORETTO, Pa. – Emma Fenton and
Madi Tyus both earned the recognition of the Northeast Conference (NEC) this week for each of the Red Flash women's volleyball players to pick up a Prime Performer award, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Fenton and Tyus led the way for the Red Flash this weekend for the team to go 2-0 in NEC action for back-to-back straight set wins over Stonehill and Merrimack.
Fenton notched 66 assists over six sets for an average of 11 assists per set. Additionally, the setter collected six service aces on the weekend, with four of those aces being in the team's win over Merrimack.
Tyus led Saint Francis with 26 kills, 12 digs and four blocks for a total of 28.0 points over the six sets played this weekend. In addition, the outside hitter averaged 4.33 kills per set on the weekend.
Red Flash women's volleyball will compete in its first NEC road match of the 2022 season to take on Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 4:00 p.m.
