THE WORD ON DUQUESNE
The Dukes are 1-5 overall this season. Four of the five losses this season have came in straight sets for Duquesne. The team's first win this season came in four sets over Canisius.
Most recently, the Dukes had a five-set battle with Robert Morris.
Carsyn Henschen leads the Dukes with 64 kills and seven service aces on the 2022 season. While Madison Grimm and Ariel Helm lead Duquesne defensively. Grimm has 58 digs on the season and Helm has posted 21.0 blocks so far for the Dukes.
LAST TIME WE MET
The Red Flash are 1-35-1 overall against the Dukes. The two teams last faced one another at the Youngstown State Invitational last season. The Red Flash won the third set, 25-22 but the Dukes were able to take the first two sets and fourth set for the 3-1 win.
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash began its road schedule last weekend by taking on Montana, Drake, and tournament host, IUPUI. The team lost in a five-set thriller to IUPUI and over four sets to Drake but dropped in three to Montana.
Aubrey Deptula earned a spot on the IUPUI All-Tournament Team by recording 17 kills, 54 total attacks, seven service aces, three digs and 8.0 blocks over the three games.
Maggie Hogan led the way for the Red Flash to record 30 digs, 27 kills, 90 total attacks, six service aces and 4.0 blocks over 12 sets played. Freshman
Korrin Burns recorded 27 kills, one assist, three service aces, 26 digs and 6.0 blocks over the weekend.
UP NEXT
After the team's match to Duquesne, the Red Flash will hit the road for Eastern Kentucky's tournament in Richmond, K.Y. on Sept. 9-10. The tournament will feature opponents in host school, Eastern Kentucky along with Eastern Illinois and Purdue Fort Wayne.
