Saint Francis Claims Victory Against Delaware

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis picked up their first win of the season against Delaware by a score of 1-0.
>> Head Coach Sara Butler secured her first collegiate win in her career on Thursday afternoon.
>> Rita Kendziora got the lone goal for the Red Flash during the 23rd minute, it was her first of the season.
>> Goalkeeper Sarah McConnon picked up her first shutout of the season and recorded six saves in the win.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Rita Kendziora notched her first goal of the season that was setup beautifully by Tomke Dziesiaty on a centering pass in the 23rd minute. After the Red Flash scored first they never looked back as Saint Francis controlled the tempo for the remaining time period in the match.

FLASH MOMENTS
Sarah McConnon played a near perfect match in net stopping any ball that came her way either on corner kicks or shots on goal. It was also the great play on defense in front of McConnon that helped with Savannah Schoonmaker, Corinne Renninger, Bella Pesch, and Tomke Dziesiaty chipping in to provide stability in the back end.

FLASH NUGGETS
Lauren Pyle led the Red Flash with two shots on goal but also was the first key passer that led to the goal scored by Kendziora. In terms of fouls the Red Flash won that category having three less then Delaware en route to the victory.
This was also the first win against Delaware all-time in their eight game series to date.

UP NEXT
The Red Flash will stay home and play host to Niagara this upcoming Sunday afternoon. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. and can be seen live on NEC Front Row.
