NORTH EASTON, Mass. – Saint Francis University women's basketball defeated Stonehill 56-52 for its first conference victory of the 2022-23 season. Three Red Flash players scored in double-digits in the first meeting against the Skyhawks in program history.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Saint Francis and Stonehill traded scores to start the game before the Skyhawks opened up a seven-point lead four minutes in. The Red Flash responded with 10-2 run to end the quarter and held a 17-16 lead. In the second quarter, Saint Francis held a slight edge through the frame and took a 33-29 lead into halftime.
Saint Francis led by between five and nine points for the entire third quarter before a
Destini Ward jumper at 9:35 remaining in the fourth gave the Red Flash its first double-digit lead, 48-38. Stonehill produced a 10-1 run across a seven-minute span and cut the Saint Francis lead to 49-48 with 2:32 remaining in the game. Two possessions later, Moore scored on a layup and extended the lead to 51-48 before Bramanti cut the lead to 51-50. In the final minute, Saint Francis converted five-of-six free-throw attempts to clinch its 56-52 victory.
FLASH NUGGETS
Saint Francis' five turnovers were tied for the second-fewest single-game total in program history. The Red Flash committed a program-low four turnovers against Wagner on March 3, 2014 and five turnovers on Feb. 26, 2018 against Bryant. The feat comes after Saint Francis entered Friday's game averaging 25.3 turnovers per game.
Saint Francis has won its first conference road game of the season in seven of the past eight seasons.
Goula set a new career-high mark with Saint Francis with 13 points and Miller tied her season-high with 12. Both players tied a season-high with four and six converted field goals, respectively.
