TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME

Saint Francis and Merrimack both came out of the gate with energy, going back and forth up and down the pitch and generating quality chances.

The second half saw much of the same until a Merrimack goal in the 79th minute put the Warriors in front.

Saint Francis needed late heroics from somebody in the final seconds, and Persichetty answered the call when she put home a chance created off of a Lauren Pyle (Lititz, Pa.) corner and blocked Tomke Dziesiaty (Tornesch, Germany) shot. The goal came with a second to spare, ensuring the Red Flash of a point.

FLASH MOMENTS

Saint Francis nearly netted a goal in the third minute when Pyle nearly connected with Mercedez Paino (Langhorne, Pa.) on a through ball, but the goalkeeper stepped in and scooped up the ball. Paino would get another chance just a few minutes later, missing wide.

Shortly thereafter, Paige Theobald (Tinton Falls, N.J.) would find Rita Kendziora (Duncansville, Pa.) on a through ball that led to a Pyle shot that sailed wide.

In the 23rd minute, McConnon made a punching save on a rocket of a shot to keep the game level.

The Red Flash nearly got on the board in the 26th minute when a Pyle corner led to a Theobald shot that soared over the crossbar.

Just before the end of the first half, Aixa Helbringer-Escobar (Santiago, Chile) found Kendziora on a lob pass down the right side. Kendziora sent a cross into the box for Noa Dorah, who's header went high.

In the 57th minute, Pyle lobbed a pass into space that found Dziesiaty for a golden opportunity in the box, but the goalkeeper denied Dziesiaty's shot.

In the 68th minute, McConnon was faced with a one-on-one chance and made the save on a long shot to keep Merrimack off the board.

Four minutes later, Pyle nearly got Saint Francis on the board with a cracking shot from 20 yards out that was saved.

Moments later, Savannah Schoonmaker (State College, Pa.) stepped in front of and cleared a loose ball headed for the net to keep Saint Francis level.

Persichetty's stunning last-second goal earned Saint Francis a point from the contest.

FLASH NUGGETS

With four goals on the season, Persichetty has doubled her career-high for goals in a season (2).

The six shots registered by Saint Franics in the game marks the sixth time in seven games that the Red Flash have tallied at least six shots.
