>> The Saint Francis women's soccer team dropped the last game of a three-game road stand to Wagner, 3-1.
After a scoreless opening 40 minutes, Wagner's Juliana Rafaniello scored off of a corner to put the Seahawks in front.
Wagner scored another goal shortly after the break to go up 2-0. Paino's goal would draw the Red Flash back within one, but the Seahawks would extend their lead back to two with an 83rd minute goal.
FLASH MOMENTS
Five of McConnon's seven saves on the night were of spectacular caliber. From a sliding save in the 12th minute to three diving saves over the course of the game. The best of her five saves came in the 86th minute on a shot from a free kick. The ball kicked way up into the air off of a diving McConnon's leg and was cleared out of harm's way by a Red Flash defender.
Claire Miko (Medina, Ohio.) nearly got Saint Francis on the board in the 33rd minute when she narrowly missed Rita Kendziora (Duncansville, Pa.) on a cross near the back post.
Pyle crossed the ball into the box on a corner kick and nearly set Schoonmaker up for her first career goal, but the ball was knocked away by a Seahawk defender.
Pyle, Miko, Paige Theobald (Tinton Falls, N.J.), Aixa Helbringer-Escobar (Santiago, Chile) and Riley Cerqua (Pittsburgh, Pa.) all registered shots before Paino put one in the back of the net.
FLASH NUGGETS
Paino is now just one goal behind Lauren Persichetty (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Raine Korpics (Walnutport, Pa.) for the team lead in goals on the season of three.
McConnon has made at least six saves in three of the four games she has played all 90 minutes.
