LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball's comeback effort falls short in its 60-58 home loss top Lafayette.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Lafayette began the game with a 12-4 lead with 4:15 remaining in the first quarter before Saint Francis strung together an 11-3 run and tied the game at 15. In the second quarter, Lafayette outscored Saint Francis 18-7 and took a 33-22 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Lafayette opened a 19-point, 43-24 lead with 5:34 remaining before Saint Francis ended the frame with a 15-3 run and cut the deficit to 46-39. Saint Francis then went on a 16-6 run in the fourth quarter and opened a four-point, 55-51 lead with 4:53 remaining. A back-and-forth final five minutes saw Lafayette hold a 60-58 lead with 1:14. With Saint Francis unable to get a shot off in the final possession, Lafayette clinched its victory.
FLASH NUGGETS
Carruthers is the first Red Flash player with at least 20 points this season. She had three of the top four single-game scoring performances this season, which all came in the last three games. She is averaging 18.7 points during that stretch. Carruthers' five converted three-point field goals were the most by a Red Flash player since Lili Benzel's five against Bryant on Jan. 17. 2022.
Gibson produced the first double-digit rebounding effort of the season for Saint Francis. She set a career-high by four.
Ward has two 14-point performances in the last three games. She tied a career-high with six converted field goals and four assists, which were both a season-high mark.
