LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball's Kendall Carruthers was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. She also added an NEC Prime Performer selection.
 
Carruthers scored 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting against Lafayette and 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting against Loyola Maryland. During the two-game stretch, she combined for 7-of-16 (43.8-percent) from three-point territory.
 
Through her first six collegiate games, Carruthers is averaging a conference fifth-best 12.7 points per game. Her 1.8 three-point field goals per game ranks fourth in the NEC.
 
She has produced three of the top four single-game scoring efforts for Saint Francis this season, which all came in the last three games. She is averaging 18.7 points per game during that stretch. Carruthers has added 3.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game this season.
 
The Holland, Ohio native is the first major NEC weekly award winner of the season for Saint Francis. She joined teammate Kaitlyn Maxwell, who is out due to injury, as an NEC Prime Performer this season. Saint Francis had just two NEC Rookie of the Week selections in the previous three seasons combined.
